Arboriculture and Habitats team visit the Arb Show 2016

Contract Ecology’s habitat team were delighted to meet suppliers face to face and try out new kit for mitigation contracting and tree services at the National Arboretum in Gloucestershire.

Contract Ecology staff recently attended the annual Arboricultural Association Arb Show held at the prestigious National Arboretum at Tetbury in Gloucestershire.

The team had the opportunity to attend contractor’s workshops and discuss training opportunities with LANTRA as well as local training provider Myerscough College. They also attended practical workshops hosted by The Ancient Tree Forum in association with the Woodland Trust.

The show offered Contract Ecology the opportunity to source more suppliers to help grow our range of micro plant and machinery that we specialise in for habitat creation, enhancement and restoration works on sensitive wildlife sites. The team were offered hands on practical demos of specialist tracked mulchers as well as micro wood chippers, light enough to pull into sensitive habitats where even a tracked machine would cause too much ground disturbance.

Over 100 exhibitors were present selling all manner of wares and the team made the most of the shopping opportunity by purchasing new arb kit and PPE on the day.

Entry to the show also allowed free admission into the National Arboretum where the recently opened tree top walk proved a real hit.
