CEL were commissioned to undertake a Baseline ecological survey at land formerly used as railway sidings by the glass industry of St Helens, Merseyside for Countryside Properties Ltd. Initial desktop information and scoping of the site revealed extensive invasive species and the need for further bat survey work. Bats were confirmed present within one building onsite and CEL successfully designed and implemented a DEFRA Licensed capture and mitigation scheme which has included new habitat creation and a low pollution lighting scheme to aid species movements across the site.
